When he was second in line to the throne of San Cristobel, Prince Edmund soon proved that "dark prince" surely described more than his mood.
When Edmund's older brother
Richard learned of his dirty deeds,
Edmund tried to stage a coup to
unseat the reigning prince.		 After months of hiding out in
the mountains to escape impri-
sonment or death, Edmund faced
Richard when he saved Beth and
Phillip following a plane crash.		 Edmund learned that Phillip slept with
Beth and was the father of her baby.
The "prince" of a guy blackmailed Phillip,
who became his sworn enemy.
Beth wrongly thought Edmund killed
Cassie. He then temporarily locked
Beth in the tower to prevent her from
talking. She tried to escape, but fell.		 Beth became Edmund's princess
bride, but her Springfield friends
and family refused to attend the
nuptials because they hated Edmund.		 In an amazing turn of events, Edmund
was crowned prince of San Cristobel.
At his coronation, he proposed to Beth
and she accepted.
When Beth tried to divorce him in Mex-
ico, Edmund followed her. They got stuck
in a flash flood and she "died." Phillip
blamed Edmund.		 Destitute and alone, Edmund went
to Chicago and earned his living as
"Eddie Ivories," a piano player. He
met Beth's "dead ringer Lorelei."		 Edmund and Lorelei made Phillip believe
she was Beth. Edmund fell for Lorelei,
who really was Beth with a split person-
ality, but she chose Phillip again.
