Love and Laughter: After eight months as GUIDING LIGHT's libido-less
Edmund, David Andrew Macdonald has come up with a theory: "Edmund's almost
like STAR TREK's Mr. Spock," he tells Digest Online. "He seems to function
as pure intellect, which makes him seem almost asexual." The actor hopes
that GL's scribes "will set Edmund up with a woman who can make him
giggle"--someone not unlike Macdonald's own wife of six years, Nikki. When
Nikki helps her hubby learn his dialogue, he laughs, "She'll change the lines
to bring out every possible double-entendre, and all of a sudden, the scene
gets very raunchy!" Not everyone finds his spouse amusing, though. "She works
for the Citizens Budget Commission, which is the oldest fiscal watchdog group
in the country," reports the proud Macdonald. "When you hear [New York City
Mayor Rudolph] Giuliani screaming, 'Those dilettantes are trying to bring
down the city,' it's usually them!"
