With his family based in Washington, DC, and his wife Nicolette's in Pittsburgh, the holiday season is a time of travel for David Andrew Macdonald (Edmund, GL).

"We usually swap Christmases, just sort of switch off every year, back and forth," says the actor.

Logging such mileage never bothered Nikki when it was just the two of them, but now that their son, Ian, is 2, does she wish that they could wake up on Christmas morning in their own house? "Yes!" she laments with a sigh. Her husband, however, views their travel tradition in a different light.

"My mother will not be with us forever, and Nikki's parents will not be with us forever. So I think to give to that tradition at a time of year when families are very important is terrific," Macdonald explains. "That's the way I look at it. Although my wife clearly does not!"

Besides, as it is, Macdonald only gets in on the Christmas carol sing-along every other year at his mother's house.

"As all of our different cousins and siblings married into different families and everything else, there because as strong a Jewish representation at our Christmas celebration on DC as a Catholic one!" he laughs. Fa la la la la!
