Just His Type
He may seem like an old-fashioned, old-world fellow, but David Andrew Macdonald
(Edmund) is decidedly cutting-edge -- at least when it comes to correspondence.
While we imagine his royal character would use a fountain pen and engrave
stationary, Macdonald would much rather work on a word-processor. "I prefer
writing on a computer. It is a writer's dream, because you can go back and
wipe out whole sections." But that's not the only benefit. Macdonald admits
that his "handwriting is appalling" and his penmanship "is more a postmodern
work of art than a way of giving somebody information." Still, even on a
keyboard, Macdonald runs into problems: "I never learned how to type," he
concludes, "so I hunt and peck."
